Waterproofing good boots?

I bought a cute pair of nice fashion boots but they are not waterproof. I don%26#039;t want to ruin them by walking in the rain, but will wateproofing hurt them? Do I need to do it? How? Help plz.

Waterproofing good boots?
Depends. Are they suede or smooth leather? Smooth leather can be waterproofed to a degree by applying leather conditioner and oils to it: try Fiebing%26#039;s Aussie leather conditioner, or Snow Seal. Both have beeswax and other oils to keep water out of the leather. This won%26#039;t make them completely waterproof, but it will protect them so walking in the rain or snow won%26#039;t totally destroy your boots. Kiwi Mink Oil is also a good product.

With all of these products you will have to reapply after you%26#039;ve gotten the boots wet. Still, they will keep the boots looking new for a long time.
Reply:there is a spray sold in shoe shops that is supposed to make ure shoes water-resistant
