Studying Abroad in London- Kensington Area- Aug thru Dec...Things to pack vs thing to buy??

I have the rain coat w/ liner and umbrella and jumpers/sweaters and such. But what kind of trainers are best suited for the rain? Do I really need wellies/rain boots? Should I buy those stateside or find them when I get there? And where are there charity shops nere Paddington Square (nearest station to me)?

When you say Paddington Square (nearest station to me) do you mean Paddington Station? If so, is a charity shop in Spring Street, one in Praed Street and two or more on Edgware Road. Each are within a 5 or 10 minute walk of Paddington station. I%26#039;ve never used wellies or rainboats in London. Just wear your normal shoes and expect them to get wet from time to time. If you find otherwise, you can always buy stuff over here. Have fun!
Reply:Remember London isnt a 3rd world country, in other words - pack minimal!! You will only have to lug it around or store it somewhere. August in London is going to be hot!! Yeah December will be cold but by then you will basically be a local and realise how easy it is to travel round and buy whatever you need then. Many high streets have cheap stores to buy basic needs or for a real London market experience go to %26quot;Camden Markets%26quot; at Camden, they sell anything you can imagine, including gumboots but you wont need them, trust me! Leave your old stuff behind, London%26#039;s got it all!! Have fun xoxox
