How do I fix slippery boots?

I have patent leather boots that do a great job of keeping my socks and pants dry in the rain. The problem is the slippery sole. I slid and fell, on a shiny but dry floor. I don%26#039;t want to do that again. I know there are big cleats available for walking on the ice, but is there anything I can attach to reduce ordinary sliding? Walking in slush, wet floors, etc.?

If they are new, you need to rough up the soles. Put them on %26amp; scrape around on pavement.

or just go out in your driveway and scuff them up a bit

I had a pair that I almost broke my neck on and the cobbler put something on the bottom of the shoe and they were fine.
