I need someone to answer this who has kids! Someone gave my son a pair of size 5 rain boots, but they seem bigger than his size 5 shoes. He is 18 months. Are there different scales for toddlers vs kids shoes? Thanks!

Yes there are different scales for toddlers and kids shoes. Toddler shoes are 1-13 and then there are kids sizes in the same labeled sizes but much bigger.

Reply:Kid size shoes are adult size shoes. You only have toddler (aka baby) size 1-13 and adult (aka kid/adult) size 1- really big!!! Also to remember that different brands are different sizes thats why we have to try on shoes. Also maybe the boots go over existing shoes???

Going to the snow?
Im going to the Soda Springs by Tahoe and this is my first time going to the snow so i am not certain on what to wear. Since it%26#039;s late march i dont think i need to bulk up on the clothing that much and i dont want to spend that much money. My bf said i could wear rain boots and water resistent pants with sweats and thermals underneath. Your help is appreciated!
Going to the snow?
At this time of yr. you should wear water resistant clothing all over your body, including your ski jacket %26amp; pants. It%26#039;s a great idea to have water resistant gloves or mittens. You can find plenty of canvas, water resistant gloves %26amp; mittens.
You should also wear thermals underneath. They%26#039;ll keep you warmer %26amp; if it gets wet they%26#039;ll keep the cold moisture off you skin %26amp; you won%26#039;t catch cold.
Remember, you can%26#039;t really over dress with warm clothing for skiing. It more than likely to be much colder at the top of the mountain then at the bottom. You%26#039;ll also be surprised how windy it get while riding up the lift or at the top. You can get cold on a lift since you%26#039;re just sitting there.
Get a locker to store your clothes since you%26#039;re not sure what to wear. Every ski area has rental lockers %26amp; they cost only about 25-50 cents. They are usually found around the area where equip. rentals are.
If you get to warm, you can store your clothes in your locker %26amp; then put them back on if it gets colder. Remember, it can get cold if you ski early, or very late in the day or especially at night. GOOD LUCK %26amp; HAVE FUN!!!

In that case, you%26#039;d look good wearing them with flats and a shirt that compliments them both. Ideally, the shirt should be at your waist, or just a bit lower. The same would apply for the capris, but they%26#039;d look good with flats or flip-flops. I think you%26#039;d look most attractive in the capris.

my favorite color to wear is definitely yellow and i love dresses in vintage floral prints.
i wear lots of lace and victorian looking things along with cameo jewelry, pearls and lots of jewelry with birds.
when i dress casually, i wear skinny jeans that are usually dark washed with either a cardigan or a solid color top thats almost always empire waisted.
i like printed button downs and plaid is cute too.
as for shoes, i wear anything from checkered vans to flats to vibrant stripped rain boots!
im rather petite, in my height and size and my hair is long and light brown. most of the time i wear it straight and parted on the side, but i also love to wear it in loose barrel curls.

Should I buy the Coach tattersall tote?
I have the rain boots and the umbrella, I plan on buying the doggie coat, but I%26#039;m not sure if I want to buy the tote. It doesn%26#039;t have to do with price. The tote gets dirty easily. It would be a great help carrying all my books, but the straps look like they will break after a few months of use. Anyone already have one? Should I buy it or not?

I think people in the states, especially women, prefer to dress comfortably. I%26#039;m in college and it seems the uniform is baggy sweatshirt, leggings or oversized sweatpants and Uggs. It, in my opinion, is an absolutely horrible look. However, I think a lot of people in school wake up not too long before class and put on the cleanest pieces of clothing nearest to them at the time. I personally never leave my home not dressed. I wear a lot of jeans, but almost never wear t-shirts or tennis shoes unless exercising. It%26#039;s something that I get a lot of remarks on at school. Not mean or hateful, people just say that I always look nice.
I%26#039;ve been studying in France for the semester and the difference in how people dress for school is amazing. Even for early classes, there is not one person at the school looking like they just rolled out of bed. They dress well, fashionably, and their hair and make-up is done, everyday.

Okay im going to scotland with my highschool band. I dont know what to wear or bring i havent flewn in uhm 4 years and im not aware of the new airline policies. I also dont know what to wear. I wanna be comfortable but warm. So far i have a poncho an umbrella and rain boots. Since im going with school i get one carry-on and one undercarry bag. I also have a garment bag with three band uniforms. Any tips or advice?

I think you can only take something like 100ml%26#039;s onto a plane now, but you have to declare that at Cusotms in your country of departure %26amp; they seal it in a clear plastic bag which oyu have to carry on separetly %26amp; present at the part you go through the X Ray machine.
I%26#039;ve never flown to the USA (where I kind of assume you are from) before, but most airlines have the policy of only allowing you one item of cabin baggage %26amp; usually this can be no more than 10kgs. Of course souvenirs are not affected by this.
Scotland at this time of the year is quite changable %26amp; it is not uncommon to have 4 seasons in one day. Certainly I would bring an umbrella with you %26amp; a raincoat. As someone else said just bring normal boots (wellies will just take up space in your baggage). Pack your sunglasses just in case. Maybe a warm jumper, some t shirts %26amp; a lighter jackeet too for the nicer days.
Just remember though that any toiletries like toothpaste, mouthwash, shower gels, deodarants (spray or roll on), shampoos etc are best kept in your baggage that goes in the hold of the plane. That saves on any potential hassle at the airport both before you go %26amp; when you arrive.

Is this a good stroy so far? Can anyone help me on what happens next.. this is my first story. I'm dumbfounded
WASHINGTON BEACH
The girl with the long, silky, brown hair was relaxing on the nice warm, white sand. She loved the salty smell of the ocean, and the soothing sounds the waves made when they curled and spread out. She always got caught up in her head when, the sun hit the water, and made the skies light up in colors of earth tones. No one could ruin this moment, but the storm. It was starting to take over the sea, forcing the water to start to rumble. The clouds began pushing the sun, down with its force, making the color run afar.
Then a streak of lightning struck! She had awakened, and fell right down to reality. She quickly got up, and scuttled home. Rain was falling, as if the clouds were weeping. When she had gotten home her mother was outside yelling, “Ariel! Ariel! Get in the basement! Hurry! Grab your dog and get in the basement!” Arial stood there for a second. Then she ran into the urban styled house, scooped up the tiny dog at the door, and put him in the dark, clammy basement. She turned around, and saw the harsh storm coming! The wind was picking up over by the mountain. It started to swirl, like the dog when he chases his tail. Her mother grabbed her by the arm and pulled her in the basement while shutting the doors. “I hope your father is ok” she said, lighting the candles.
“Mom, daddy is fine.” Ariel picked up her little Chihuahua, and put him in the pen they kept for him, and turned the radio on. “Are we going to be ok? I was down by the beach, and it got grave fast.” “Sweetie, I’m sure we will be fine. Our home might not be.” They both chortled, and sat down. They pondered upon the noises coming from outside. A few hours later the sounds had stopped. The man on the radio said the tornado has died down and is now just finishing and for everyone to remain calm. “Mom, you know when they say remain calm that’s just when I start to worry.” “Oh, stop that, he is just trying to be helpful. Now, let’s listen to what he has to say.”
The man continued and said, “We are very sorry to report this, but almost all of Washington beach is gone. To everyone who is tuning in I repeat Washington beach is almost completely gone. The storm came up on us like a cockroach.” The radio started making ludicrous noises, and gave out. “Oops, I had forgotten to put new batteries in. I am so sorry.”
“Its ok mom, we don’t need that radio anyways. I just can’t believe our home is gone. It is gone just like everything else right? It went so quick.
Mom! What are we going to do?” “We are going to find a phone when we can get out of here, and call your father. He will know what to do next.” Both of them were ready to see the destruction that had occurred. Mother lifted the door of the basement. “Gasp! Er..Uhh..Ariel, Darling, you stay in here and keep an eye on the dog for me. I don’t want her getting hurt; besides she is just a little baby.”
“Mom, I’m not a baby. I am twelve years old! I think I can handle what it looks like.” Mother looked at Ariel and said “Ok, but you still have to stay here so I know where you are.” She took out her distinct, glossy, ebony colored cell phone and held it up towards the evolving sky. “Hmm… No Signal. You have to stay here; I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t find you out there. It is jeopardous out here! Please stay here with the dog.” “Fine, I will stay.” Mother left in search to find a working phone.
After about thirty minutes, Ariel couldn’t take it anymore. She had to go out there. “I could just take a peek. I mean it’s not like a crime or anything, and mom would never know.” She said. “Oh! I have to find a way to bring you, Butterscotch.” She then started searching for an old purse she used to carry him in. “Here it is!” She took the purple bag with the bright orange letters on it, and put the dog in the bag. “Now, let’s go on an adventure.”
She slipped her bright pink rain boots on, and opened the door. To her surprise there was nothing there! Her house wasn’t even there. She just stared at what was left of her white and green, urban styled home. She then looked towards the beach. “Well, at least the beach is there. Although, how could a beach not be there, it has to be there.”
She stepped out of the basement and glanced at a figure from afar. He stopped then started running towards her. “Ariel! I’m so glad I found you! Where on earth have you been?!? “We need to get to that meeting Ariel.” They both started on their way to the meeting. On the way they saw all the real damage that had happened. Trees in the middle of the football stadium, nothing but rubbish everywhere, houses were in streets, and lights were even on the beach! It seemed like there wasn’t even grass, or sand. “Nothing but crap!” “Oh, common Danny we can clean it up. We can make the best of this. This can be the start of a new beginning.” “This could also be a new ending Ariel!” “Stop thinking like that! Now, let’s just get there!” They finally arrived at the meeting. The entire town’s people, along with their leftover belongings, were there.
The mayor had just begun to speak, when they had arrived. The whole town was chattering amongst themselves. The Mayor stood on an old table he had spotted, and said, “Silence! This meeting will go by shortly if we can all participate! Thank you. Now, I as mayor am going to see to it that we can get some help, but until then we all have to work together. Before anyone interrupts me, I would like to say this couldn’t get any worse. You as the people need to get together all the food you have. We will feed everyone equally, and fairly, but first we need order. This means we will have certain groups with certain jobs to fulfill. Everyone must do there job! Ok, so are there any questions, before I give out jobs?” Ten people raise their hands as high as they can reach. “Ok, good no questions. I want everyone in age groups. All the kids by that tire, everyone in there teens by that limping tree thing, Oh! and all the adults over by that bus.” Everyone had started to chit-chat, as they moved. “I told everyone to be quiet! You people must be quiet!”
After everyone had there jobs, Ariel took it upon herself to seek her friends.
Is this a good stroy so far? Can anyone help me on what happens next.. this is my first story. I%26#039;m dumbfounded
I%26#039;ll be honest; you%26#039;re right, it%26#039;s not great writing.
But you wouldn%26#039;t expect to sit down and write your first piano concerto without any trouble would you?
Writing, like every other skill in life, takes practice, and the important thing is that you have begun! This isn%26#039;t that dire; you have good potential but you need to polish your style, master point-of-view and dialogue, and learn to make it flow better.
The best ways to learn are by reading, writing lots of different stories about different types of characters and settings, and perhaps reading some books about how to write (try the books at the link below).
So keep it up, and good luck!

Maybe blend some of your sentences together? The idea is not to create run-on sentences, of course, but the writing seems sort of choppy. Reply:I believe you should have described the crumbling of her house. When she got out with the dog it felt a bit like a suprise the house was gone. If she stayed at the basement it would make a hell of a rubble when the house was to collapse. So you missed out that moment.
Aside from that, you don%26#039;t really hear that much of %26#039;mom%26#039; in conversations between family members. Just try to put yourself in the dialogue part. But that%26#039;s a minor thing.
Oh, and do remember, practice makes perfect. The more you write the better you get.

The girl with the long, silky, brown hair was relaxing on the nice warm, white sand. She loved the salty smell of the ocean, and the soothing sounds the waves made when they curled and spread out. She always got caught up in her head when, the sun hit the water, and made the skies light up in colors of earth tones. No one could ruin this moment, but the storm. It was starting to take over the sea, forcing the water to start to rumble. The clouds began pushing the sun, down with its force, making the color run afar.
Then a streak of lightning struck! She had awakened, and fell right down to reality. She quickly got up, and scuttled home. Rain was falling, as if the clouds were weeping. When she had gotten home her mother was outside yelling, “Ariel! Ariel! Get in the basement! Hurry! Grab your dog and get in the basement!” Arial stood there for a second. Then she ran into the urban styled house, scooped up the tiny dog at the door, and put him in the dark, clammy basement. She turned around, and saw the harsh storm coming! The wind was picking up over by the mountain. It started to swirl, like the dog when he chases his tail. Her mother grabbed her by the arm and pulled her in the basement while shutting the doors. “I hope your father is ok” she said, lighting the candles.
“Mom, daddy is fine.” Ariel picked up her little Chihuahua, and put him in the pen they kept for him, and turned the radio on. “Are we going to be ok? I was down by the beach, and it got grave fast.” “Sweetie, I’m sure we will be fine. Our home might not be.” They both chortled, and sat down. They pondered upon the noises coming from outside. A few hours later the sounds had stopped. The man on the radio said the tornado has died down and is now just finishing and for everyone to remain calm. “Mom, you know when they say remain calm that’s just when I start to worry.” “Oh, stop that, he is just trying to be helpful. Now, let’s listen to what he has to say.”
The man continued and said, “We are very sorry to report this, but almost all of Washington beach is gone. To everyone who is tuning in I repeat Washington beach is almost completely gone. The storm came up on us like a cockroach.” The radio started making ludicrous noises, and gave out. “Oops, I had forgotten to put new batteries in. I am so sorry.”
“Its ok mom, we don’t need that radio anyways. I just can’t believe our home is gone. It is gone just like everything else right? It went so quick.
Mom! What are we going to do?” “We are going to find a phone when we can get out of here, and call your father. He will know what to do next.” Both of them were ready to see the destruction that had occurred. Mother lifted the door of the basement. “Gasp! Er..Uhh..Ariel, Darling, you stay in here and keep an eye on the dog for me. I don’t want her getting hurt; besides she is just a little baby.”
“Mom, I’m not a baby. I am twelve years old! I think I can handle what it looks like.” Mother looked at Ariel and said “Ok, but you still have to stay here so I know where you are.” She took out her distinct, glossy, ebony colored cell phone and held it up towards the evolving sky. “Hmm… No Signal. You have to stay here; I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t find you out there. It is jeopardous out here! Please stay here with the dog.” “Fine, I will stay.” Mother left in search to find a working phone.
After about thirty minutes, Ariel couldn’t take it anymore. She had to go out there. “I could just take a peek. I mean it’s not like a crime or anything, and mom would never know.” She said. “Oh! I have to find a way to bring you, Butterscotch.” She then started searching for an old purse she used to carry him in. “Here it is!” She took the purple bag with the bright orange letters on it, and put the dog in the bag. “Now, let’s go on an adventure.”
She slipped her bright pink rain boots on, and opened the door. To her surprise there was nothing there! Her house wasn’t even there. She just stared at what was left of her white and green, urban styled home. She then looked towards the beach. “Well, at least the beach is there. Although, how could a beach not be there, it has to be there.”
She stepped out of the basement and glanced at a figure from afar. He stopped then started running towards her. “Ariel! I’m so glad I found you! Where on earth have you been?!? What outfit is best for the firs and secound day of school....?
Okay for the first day of seventh grade its just the seventh graders and on the secound day the eight graders come. so i was wondering what i should wear on the first day and the secound, here are the pieces...

Um wait, before you think about clothes, you sould be worried about your spelling.... and I thought I was bad with spelling. But I will still look at your outfits.
The first one, wear a white or cream tank. I would go with cream because it will bring out your skin tone more. Also cream will go great with your dark wash jeans and it%26#039;s great for fall.
The sceond one, you should also wear dark wash jeans and a nice jacket of hoodie. A Hollister or Abercrombie hoodie would be fine, as long as you are not also planing to wear a logo tote. OR, you could wear a regual hoodie. In addtion, the top would go great with boot cut destroyed jeans, like the ones A%26amp;F sell.

The fourth one, I would go classic prep with a nice white tennis skirt and white tennis shoes. For a jacket if you need one I would try demin, they sell some at A%26amp;F, or just a hoodie.

Can rainboots serve as deckboots?
I%26#039;m not quite an avid fisher, and I prefer the rubber soles of deck boots, but without having to shell out upwards of $50 for deck boots, am I safe using regular rain boots? Or do the soles have to be smooth instead?

Studying Abroad in London- Kensington Area- Aug thru Dec...Things to pack vs thing to buy??
I have the rain coat w/ liner and umbrella and jumpers/sweaters and such. But what kind of trainers are best suited for the rain? Do I really need wellies/rain boots? Should I buy those stateside or find them when I get there? And where are there charity shops nere Paddington Square (nearest station to me)?

Each are within a 5 or 10 minute walk of Paddington station. I%26#039;ve never used wellies or rainboats in London. Just wear your normal shoes and expect them to get wet from time to time. If you find otherwise, you can always buy stuff over here. Have fun!
