If you are short on space, try to make the best use of the space you have. Pack smartly and neatly. Try rolling the sheets in with the sleeping bag. If you are only going to be there a few days, try travel versions of the shampoo, deodorant, etc. You can even get small bottles of sunscreen. For 4 days camping you COULD get along with only 1 towel if you remember to hang it up after you use it. Then take only a couple of wash cloths. Pack socks, undies, mittens, hats, etc. inside of the shoes and rain boots. Try to fold and pack as compactly as possible. Pack the heaviest things at the bottom of your bag and the lightest on top.

Good luck.

Oh, and here's a link to backpacking camping. Hope it helps.

Reply:I don't get why you'd need a sheet if you're using a sleeping bag, so leave that.

You can get little blow up pillows from camping shops with a thin padded soft layer.-tiny.

If you take a vest top, t-shirt and long sleeved t you can mix and match for the weather. A wind proof top is handy as they are thin and warm.

Trousers that zip off at the knee to turn into shorts.

You surely won't need 2 pairs of shoes aswell as boots. These'll be your heaviest items so cut down by taking waterproof walking trainers. Take flipflops to wear in communal showers or to slip on in morning around base.

Muji sell really cool travel bottles for toiletries.Take a shower gel that does hair and body instead o seperates.

Best thing ever is a head torch, like a Petzl. These keep your hands free.

Put all this in a proper rucksac for walking which has a support strap around your waist and it'll feel like it weighs half what it would in a standard bag. I just don't think the bag on wheels thing will work or this trip.

Have fun. :-)
Reply:Hello,

Bedding

(all good and necessary)

Clothing

(night clothes/underclothes) can be incorporated together, for night clothes, pj's or tights/leggings (thin and do not take much space at all) bring a warm/light jacket (layers is the key, don't be too specific and have 1 for every situation)

check out the forecast to see the weather, you might not wanna wear shorts (bugs at night, too cold, wet)

forget the 2 pairs of shoes, if your going to bring water proof boots, I doubt your shoes will get messed up.

personal supplies

two smaller bath towels, not huge ones, all of this can fit in a side pocket of a dufflebag besides the towels all is good

SO, you'll probably need 2 mid sized dufflebags, and the sleeping bag. maybe you can get a bag on wheels, if you do, tie your sleeping bag to it so you can roll two bags, and carry one

you won't get punished for compensating some other the required supplies and choosing alternates, so don't worry about that
Reply:sorry you are screwed
