1989 Dodge Raider Won't start when it rains. It turns over but no spark.?

I thought maybe the distributor cap might have a crack that allows the spark to jump to ground when damp, so I replaced the cap and rotor. That did not make a difference. When it is not raining it starts and runs like new! Could not see any arching at spark plug boots or from spark plug wires anywhere...

It may be arcing at the ignition coil. When it is running great without the skip start squirting the wires with a fine mist of water from a spray bottle. It may be easier if you have someone hold the brake while idling in drive to see when it starts to skip, I also find that the arc is easier to see if it is dark around the engine so do it in a shadow or poorly lit section. Also just have a look at the coil tower and wire it may show signs of arcing.
Reply:What if you hook the spark tester below directly to the ignition coil wire you remove from the center connector on the distributor cap rather than to just one of the spark plug leads? Then the distributor won't affect the spark and if you have spark at the ignition coil output you'll know your losing it in the distributor somewhere.

Reply:Bad coil or two connecting wires at coil, wire from coil to distributor.
